EAS Lipid Registry of Africa (EAS-LIPRA)

Synopsis

EAS-LIPRA has brought together investigators from multiple African countries with support from various regions of the Western world with an interest in dyslipidaemia, preventive cardiology and patient care. This registry is envisaged to expand its reach across Africa and broadly facilitate multiple lines of scientific inquiry in lipidology and preventive cardiology through multisite participation. The outputs of this work are expected to inform and help improve clinical practice in that underrepresented part of the world.

Study Portfolio

(1) Multisite investigation into the risk factors and outcomes of premature acute coronary syndrome in African populations. Status: Actively recruiting.

(2) Multisite observational study on the role of lipoprotein[a]. Status: In setup.

(3) Delphi survey on our African network to ascertain research priorities in lipidology and preventive cardiology across Africa. Status: Complete; manuscript under review.
